NOPE, a foetus is every much as human as someone reading this. Thanks to science we are able to know for a fact that each foetus has its own genetic makeup completely separate to their parents.

Much like the argument in many abortion debates that clumps of cells are not humans, science has proven the pro-abortion advocates wrong, and the same goes for the lie about the human foetus.
As our other article mentions, from the moment of conception, sometimes in the absence of effective birth control, an egg can be fertilised and a unique human organism is created. This organism has its own human DNA, and is the offspring of human parents, meaning that it is a human being.
Can a foetus, a Latin word meaning offspring and describes the human being’s stage of life, become anything other than a human person?
Of course not, the human foetus will not develop into a cow or anything else the pro-abortion advocates may tell you. Embryos are how every human being began, even those Abortion Rights Campaign and repeal workers who argue that abortion is not destroying human life.
If you remove a foetus from the womb, then you are removing a human being at a stage of life that results in the destruction of that human’s further development and life.1
Perhaps why those pro-choice members, who campaign to repeal the 8th Amendment are afraid to speak the truth about the lives that are destroyed through abortion, is because they do not consider a pre-born baby developed enough to be considered human life?
How mistaken that argument is, they clearly need more information about the development of a human before they abort it.
Doctors and DNA specialists can tell you that a “newly fertilized egg, a distinct and living organism, contains a staggering amount of genetic information, sufficient to control the individual’s growth and development for his or her entire lifetime. A single thread of DNA from a human cell contains information equivalent to a library of one thousand volumes.”2 Yet for some reason these foetuses are not individual enough to be considered human by the pro-choice movement?
Wrong. Just because you are sitting in a car, does not make you one with that car. Yes you are dependent on that car for getting you to where you need to go, but you are at all times while in that car, a separate human being, one whose second stage of life began as being a foetus.
Each one of us started life as an embryo. When the father’s sperm fuses with the mother’s egg, a human life begins. Again, at the moment of conception a new, unique and genetically complete human being comes into existence. From that moment on, the new human being develops and grows. Although very tiny, this new human being is not just a potential life – it is already a human being with potential. Here are some ways which the unborn develops inside the pregnant mother:
- At conception, a baby’s sex is decided, a boy or a girl.
18-21 days after conception the baby’s heart is beating. - At 8 weeks, everything to be found in a fully grown human being is formed.
- By 12 weeks, fingerprints and fingernails appear; the baby can open his or her lips.
- At 16 weeks, the baby reacts to sounds, sucks, swallows and yawns.
- At 18 weeks, many mothers feel the baby’s movements. Pushing with his or her feet and head, the baby exercises the developing muscles. The baby now sucks his/her thumb.
- At 20 weeks, the baby sleeps and wakes like a born baby.
- With advances in medical care, babies born as early as 21 weeks can survive and thrive.
- At 30-40 weeks, if left undisturbed, the baby grows stronger until it is time to be born.
- For years people were misled into thinking that the unborn baby was just a “clump of cells”. The amazing advances in ultrasound technology illuminate the truth that the unborn child is a human being.

The real reason the Repeal the 8th movement in Ireland lie about the foetus, is perhaps to make it easier for the woman to have an abortion. They deny Irish women their right to know all information surrounding their pregnancy, either wanted or unwanted, before they go ahead with an abortion. For instance, would a woman be as willing to obtain an abortion if the pro-abortion activist were honest and told them that at, “the fifth week of pregnancy, or the third week after conception, marks the beginning of the embryonic period. This is when the baby’s brain, spinal cord, heart and other organs begin to form.”4 Or that their foetus’s sex is determined at fertilisation.5
All these developments occur during the legal time abortions are allowed in countries who have legislated for it, such as the UK and Holland. However, instead of speaking the truth about these developments, the Repeal the 8th Lobby think it is easier to lie and to dehumanise the foetus so they can justify abortion.
When we take the humanity out of the argument, then sure it may be easier to obtain an abortion, but how false that is. It’s like the pro-choice movement admit that there is another human when that baby is born, is that really the reality of it all? The unborn human spends nine months developing more and more until they are born, and this is the point when they are considered human?
Science has provided more than sufficient evidence to show that an individual human is created at conception. In 1967, when the abortion law was introduced in Britain, politicians could have pleaded ignorance to the humanity of the unborn child.
In 2017, we don’t have this excuse.
