On Newstalk’s Pat Kenny Show an abortion debate was hosted between pro-choice Senator Ivana Bacik and the Pro-Life Campaign’s Cora Sherlock.

The two got into a heated dispute when Sherlock accused Bacik of supporting abortion up to birth, and claimed:

There are many jurisdictions which allow abortion up to birth.

Bacik rejected this, and told Sherlock to “Stop lying”.

The fact is that 54 jurisdictions in 22 countries allow for legal abortions up to birth, among which are some of the world’s most populous nations, such as the UK and Holland.

Are we honestly expected to believe that Senator Ivana Bacik, a person who has been campaigning for a liberal abortion regime in Ireland, was not aware that there are many jurisdictions in the world that allow for abortion up to birth?

Or possibly she has not researched this matter fully.
